It's more than a little surprising — and creepy, honestly, like someone knew they'd been living together already — but Carla Jean can't help laughing, too. Something about the idea of it just puts her at ease. She's never so much as visited a city like this, let alone lived in one, and though she stayed in a hut by herself on the island for a while, she still isn't really used to living alone. Having Kate around would have helped anyway, but this will do so more, is bound to get her settled here more quickly than she would have otherwise.
