"Yeah, I know it's happened before," she says, nodding. "It was so weird at first, though, having Reggie here, but not really having Reggie..." She trails off and shrugs, because it's better now. He might not have memories of the island, but he's become her friend again, even if things aren't quite the same. It's probably better this way, she thinks, with the feelings she had for him mellowing out into something easier, something that doesn't put any kind of pressure or expectation on him.
"I didn't tell him," she admits. "About the island. He had so much other shit going on when he got here, it seemed kind of selfish to want to tell him about it. I'm wondering if maybe I should have by now, but it seems like it's way too late for that." She's left it for too long, if she tells him now, he's just going to want to know why she didn't bring it up earlier.
